taking back sunday put on a super fun show in green bay at the club in tom, dick and harry’s on october 30, 2009. opening bands were gavin castleton, fun., and anberlin. i really liked fun.’s set… these guys are going to be big, i’m sure. anberlin really wasn’t that great, but i did catch the bassist’s water bottle at the end of their set. i now own a rock star’s water bottle! sweet. anyway, i was right on the front row barrier the whole time, which was awesome. such a trip to be that close and have adam lazzara make eye contact and sing right into your eyes the whole night. amazing.
this was the setlist:
Set Phasers To Stun
You Know How I Do
Sink Into Me
Error: Operator
Carpathia
One-Eighty By Summer
Lonely, Lonely
My Blue Heaven
New Again
You’re So Last Summer
Liar
Cute Without the “E”
Great Romances of the 20th Century
Everything Must Go
What’s It Feels Like To Be A Ghost?
ENCORE
A Decade Under The Influence
Timberwolves at New Jersey (by request)
My Name Is Jonas (Weezer cover)
MakeDamnSure
i took a lot of video and compiled them into three parts that are about 10-minutes long each. i really liked what adam said about halfway through the set where he took one girl’s camera and was like, “you paid so much money to be here, why would you wanna watch it through a smaller screen?” which is such a good point. but anyway, here is front row footage from the taking back sunday show in green bay, as captured through a 2.5-inch screen:
